A called Clutch is worth 7 points—but it is a true risk/reward shot. If you call Clutch and land a normal bullseye, red ring, or blue ring instead, that throw earns zero. That makes every final throw a possible comeback, tie-breaker, or game-winning moment.
How an IATF Match Works
IATF league matches are head-to-head. Players compete across three regulation rounds, and each round has five throws.
- Players throw at the same time on their own targets for the first four throws.
- Each throw is scored based on where the axe sticks: 1, 3, or 5 points.
- On the fifth throw, each player chooses between a normal bullseye attempt or a called Clutch attempt.
- The player with the higher point total wins that round.
- The player who wins the most rounds wins the match.
